I grew up attending the Levine School of Music in Washington, D.C., from age 7-18, where I was certified to teach classical piano. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from NYU in 2014, and for the past five years I’ve been a preschool teacher at Educational Alliance, where I have led group music classes daily. Before that, I taught group and individual music lessons to ages 1-18 for three years at Tribeca’s Church Street School for Music & Art— where I will be returning part-time this year.
My history as both an early childhood art teacher and a Dalcroze Eurhythmics music teacher informs my teaching as I bind learning to experiencing. Inspired by my profession’s lyrical sheen (children are natural poets), I curate and host the monthly reading series known as “The Space Between”, a celebration of New York City poetry and performance art.
